I am loving cowl neck tops and tees right now. As I mentioned in my last post, they are easy to wear for many body types and a great alternative to a V neck. When you think of a cowl neck it need not be a chunky sweater type. The picks below are cotton, jersey, and knit. All of them are pretty reasonable in price too. I am digging stripes right now so I included a couple of cowl neck and stripe combos.

Stylish Deal - Clogs
I know, I know...this is my 3rd post that includes clogs. I am only posting about them....again...because I found a pair for a great deal -- Dana Buchman at Kohl's. On sale for 48.99.

Shopping tip: I tried them on, they seem to run a bit small (maybe a half size).

Take Me to the Movies...What to Wear
I have movies on the mind because I want to start seeing some Academy Award nominees. Some of you may just throw on some jeans and a sweatshirt to hit the movies, but having kids makes a dinner and movie date a major EVENT. And that means I am going to get casual chic and a little sassy. Keeps my husband happy too.
For me this mean a comfortable cowl neck top from the Gap in a great color blue. (I love a cowl neck…a very flattering alternative to a V neck and it work well even with broad shoulders.) Black skinny jeans from the Gap. A fleece (you heard me) fleece blazer in gray and a pair of hot platform booties from Steve Madden. I tried these booties on and fell in LOVE with them – especially in Brown. They would look great with slim cut pants/jeans or a skirt. They are a tad high for me at 5’11” (I would say 4” maybe 4.5”so I did not pull the trigger…yet. They are on sale so it gets more tempting by the minute.
The sunglasses are for your way in to the movie...that is if you are seeing a matinee. OK, I just threw them in for fun and because I loves this blue-grey pair.
Gap Always Skinny Jeans (patch pocket black wash)
Croc-Embossed Satchel
Marc by Marc Jacobs Retro Slim Sunglasses
Steven by Steve Madden - Partey Boot (Black Leather)
- Check out the Brown too!

Go Nude!
No naked pictures in this post, sorry. Actually, I am not sorry because I don't think you would want to see my tan-less post-holiday January nudeness. Check back in August. :)
As a birthday gift from the greatest, sweetest babysitter ever (yes, you!) I received some great shoes! You may recall I have had my eye on nude platform pumps from my previous post.Take a look (yes, those are my white and ample size 10 feet.)
Nude, in my opinion, is seasonless. The open toe here will be perfect in spring and summer (and if you live in the West - It's high 70s here in Southern California lately.) But a closed toe version like in my previous post is always a good option.
Similar pair by Guess at Endless.com - additional colors available (click to view/buy)
This great nude clutch from Rebecca Minkoff is a bit of s splurge but so cute and versatile... (click to view/buy)

A less expensive clutch from BCBG Generation (click to view/buy)

And don't forget your kisser...I am a big fan of nude colored lipsticks. Great on their own or layered on top of other colors. Laura Mercier has fabulous lipsticks! (click to view/buy)

Inspired by...the Golden Globes! Green Machine
Green was the color du jour for the Golden Globes! I love green, particularly emerald green, so I was tickled pink green by this latest red carpet trend.
My personal favorite was Mila Kunis's dress although all of them have their own unique appeal. Unlike many, however, I was not impressed with Angelina Jolie's look. I think it photographed well and, let's face it, she really would look amazing in anything. But, it just looked "mature woman on a cruise" to me. Sorry.
Nevertheless, all of these green goddesses were the inspiration for this post. Green, green, green...particularly shoes and accessories because it really is difficult to find an occasion to sport an emerald green frock.
Some great green cocktail rings...an easy way to add a splash of color.

Feeling Thrifty!
As I am watching Golden Globes this fine Sunday evening (and critiquing fashions that would cost me my car), I decided to do chic on the cheap for Stylish Dish. I have also been inspired by a great blog The Budget Babe. Seeing all the dresses made me feel kinda girlie so I had to do a feminine look with a dress or skirt. Blouson tops in a sheer fabric paired with a printed skirt with opaque navy tights is nice play on soft and hard. Throw in some color with a suede round toe wedge, and voila, the look below.
And the best part...every item is $38 or less! Click an item below to browse or buy.
The top is also available in Black which is so versatile.

Casual Chic - Celebrity Inspired!
As I have mentioned, I use magazines, celebrity fashion, and people watching as inspiration. While browsing fashion mags, I try not to concentrate on the fact that most of the models and celebrities are a size 0 and focus on the fashions that I love and are wearable.
This cool, casual look featuring leather pants (on Elle Macpherson - who still looks incredible!) jumped out at me from the pages of People StyleWatch. I have not always loved the look of leather pants (particularly leather leggings), but this look is so cool and stylish. I especially like that they are pants -- not skin tight -- so they wouldn't make those of us over a size 4 look like our pants are sausage casings.
I scoured the online retailers to find this copy cat look. The pants are faux leather to keep them affordable and PETA friendly (the shoes are leather -- sorry PETA). In fact, all pieces are $100 or less, just the way I like it. Click an individual item below to browse or buy.
Now, if I could just have Elle's body and face I would be all set. :)

What to wear with...
...clogs!
A woman can not live on shoes alone. There is an entire outfit needed to accessorize the shoes.
As a follow on to my last post, here is a casual look to go with clogs. Trouser jeans, a cute (and inexpensive) cable knit sweater, a cool corduroy blazer, and the star of the show...Mr. Clog (or is it a Mrs.?)
