Yep, I do them. Even though many dismiss them as a bunch of "want to's" with no follow through. I think that regardless of the end result it is always good to take some time to reflect on yourself and life and aspire to be better, do better, feel better.
As with anything, you are more apt to do things if you say that aloud, hopefully to more than just yourself. Accountability, I guess.
So, I am posting mine aloud. Would LOVE to hear some of yours in the Comments below. And, it will be like saying them "aloud" in blog world. :)
1. Talk to and see my true friends more and text and e-mail less. I love technology but while acquaintances benefit I do think real relationships suffer.
2. Clean my house less often. I know this sounds weird but I have an affliction where I never sit down and relax. Ever. If I stop cleaning up only to clean up again a few hours later I think I will gain some valuable time.
3. Read 6 books.
4. Get to the gym 3+ times a week. This ceased in the first year of my son's life so I need to get back on track and tone it up for our Hawaii vacation.
5. Drink less wine. I hate to say this because I love wine but I think my doctor and liver would appreciate a wee bit of cutting back. Just a wee bit :)
6. Floss more often.
7. Paint. I have a canvas and oil paints that has been waiting for me for 5+ years. I am sure I have no talent but I have always wanted to give it a go.
8. Fashion resolution: Take more fashion risks and find more deals.
That's all folks...
What are yours?
You and I have a few similar resolutions. Def #1 and 4 are the same on my list, but I feel like #5 would have been a good one for me.
ReplyDeleteGreat list. Mine is pretty long too, but I'm telling myself that I can DO IT! Happy New Year!
I like your resolutions! I am definitely with you on #4, I need to do the opposite of your #2, and I just say WTF for #6! :) And since I am your sister, I say good for #5... :)
